A word from Alasdair MacPherson, Head of Sixth Form
We have a compellingly distinctive ethos and a more ‘grown up’ environment than other Sixth Forms. We encourage students to be more independent and to express themselves by supporting them to grow in whatever they are passionate about. Finally, the quality of teaching and pastoral care is what supports our high calibre students to become the absolute best they can be.
I like the different approach to learning and community feel at d’Overbroeck’s. There is a really good balance between teacher support and independence, which helps to develop well-rounded students. The teachers are always there to support you and offer extra help where needed. The level of independence also enables you to develop the skills you’ll need at university.
School ethos
We’re often asked what makes d’Ovebroeck’s different to other schools, and the answer lies in our shared ethos and values. Central to this is our focus on the individual and our dedication to supporting all our students to be the best they can be. In the Sixth Form, we aim to give all our students the independence they need to prepare for their next stage after A-Levels, whatever that may be.

Latest A-Level results
In 2019, 50% of our A-Level entries were awarded an A or A*. We were also rated the top school in Oxfordshire for progress at A-Level for the 3rd year running and also appeared in the top 1% of schools in England.
Boarding in the Sixth Form
We have a number of options available to students who want to board with us in the Sixth Form. We have both full-time and weekly boarding options, as well as the option to stay in a host family if preferred. All our boarding houses are located in Oxford and have a full-time house parent there to provide support for all our boarders.
