Global expeditions

Our incredible citizenship trip to Arusha, Tanzania teaches students about global responsibility and sustainability, and the important role we play in looking after our planet. Working with locals on a variety of projects, students develop a sense of independence, increase their understanding of the world, and learn the importance of being part of a community.

The personal challenge expedition in Les Martinets, Switzerland, encourages our students to push themselves to their limits. Set in the beautiful Swiss Alps, students hike through the mountains and take on a series of challenges. Students also learn important skills – like cooking and working together under pressure – while creating treasured memories that will stay with them forever.

Residential trips

From outdoor activities to subject-specific field trips, our residential programme builds independence, increases confidence and self-esteem, and develops leadership skills.

Trips include our Year 7 and 8 outward bounds excursion, where students tackle physical challenges and work together as a team. Our sports camps – including Year 7-11 netball and football residentials in Shropshire – give students the opportunity to compete against other schools.

Classroom learning comes to life on immersive adventures across the world. Our business and economics students head to Wall Street to see the New York Stock Exchange in action, while aspiring artists visit Venice to view some of the world’s great works in situ. Our history students explore Europe and beyond, too, including expeditions to World War II sites.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR CHILD

At d’Overbroeck’s, your child’s health and happiness will always come first. Our community is like a family, where we celebrate difference and individuality, and provide a safe environment that enables every student to be themselves.

Led by our dedicated Director of Pastoral Care and Wellbeing – who is supported by counsellors, student mentors, Directors of Study, the school nurse, and boarding staff – we create a strong team around each student. This ensures every child has the care, tools, and holistic support they need to look after their physical and emotional health.

OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

STUDENTS ACTING WITH PURPOSE AND PASSION

Our students are a genuine force for good, who proactively take the lead, act with purpose and passion, and work with friends to tackle pressing issues.

Empowered by our outward-looking community, your child will raise money and awareness for the causes that matter to them, whether that’s collecting essential supplies for a foodbank or organising a book drive for a local children’s charity. They’ll also drive inclusion, improvement, and innovation across our campuses, giving their friends a voice through our Student Council. And through our Model United Nations group, charitable projects overseas, and our Global Campus platform, they’ll learn about the challenges facing our planet – and work on solutions to effect real change.
