St. Aldates House is our accommodation for Sixth Form students who want to live in the heart of Oxford. Students will be close to shops, restaurants and all that the city centre has to offer.

St Aldates is a vibrant boarding house in the heart of Oxford, home to 50 Year 13 students. With all single rooms, it offers a supportive and sociable environment encouraging independence.

The house is known for its city-centre location. Its location allows students to make the most of Oxford’s cultural, social and academic opportunities.

Within the house, regular meetings and shared spaces help build strong connections, creating a friendly and supportive community where students can relax and feel at home.

Students live in single or twin bedrooms, many with en-suite bathrooms, designed to feel safe, comfortable and homely.

Supervised study periods run from Monday to Thursday evenings, ensuring students have dedicated time and support to focus on their studies.

Each of our boarding houses offers welcoming communal areas such as common rooms and kitchen or dining spaces, helping students relax and socialise.

Majority of our boarding houses are within walking distance of our campuses. For houses located closer to Oxford city centre, transport to campus is provided.

Resident House parents or Heads of House, supported by on-site staff, provide daily (24/7) care and guidance with clear routines and age-appropriate independence.

Meet our Head of House

With an international background that has taken me from teaching English in South Korea to tutoring in Cairo, I discovered that pastoral care is the part of education I value most.

Boarding allows me to focus on this, and students often describe me as kind, accepting and talkative because I work hard to make our house feel welcoming and open. With nearly a decade of experience in boarding and a strong team at St. Aldates, I aim to create a space where students feel comfortable, supported and heard.

Outside of boarding, I split my time between Egyptology research and volunteering as an embroiderer at Christ Church Cathedral.
