D’OVERBROECK’S ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

AN AMBITIOUS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL COMMUNITY

We welcome students from all backgrounds and nationalities at d’Overbroeck’s.

Our Senior School site is open to day and boarding students aged 11 to 16, while d'Overbroeck's International welcomes overseas day and boarding students aged 14 to 16. Sixth Form is home to 16 to 18-year-old day and boarding students from across the world.

We currently accept applications from students wishing to transfer to our school during this academic year and welcome applications for all year groups in 2026-27, as well as learners who want to start Year 9 with us in 2027-28.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS BY AREA

Our three areas - Senior School, d'Overbroeck's International, and Sixth Form - have differing entry requirements, which you can find below.

Senior School
In Senior School, we welcome 11 to 16-year-olds from across the UK and beyond. Students typically join us in Years 7 and 9, although it is possible to start in Year 8 or Year 10, providing we have spaces available. Your child will be invited to join us for a taster day, where they’ll get a feel for what it’s like to learn here. Prospective students will then take part in a group or individual assessment, which includes a two-hour cognitive abilities test.

d'Overbroeck's International
d'Overbroeck's International is open to overseas students aged from 14 to 16. We offer four distinct academic programmes, each of which has specific entry requirements. All prospective students will write a short personal statement as part of their application. We’ll then invite your child to sit entrance tests and interview with our Senior School leadership team.

Sixth Form
Our hugely popular Sixth Form welcomes 16 to 18-year-old day and boarding students. Entry to Sixth Form depends on whether your child is a UK or international applicant (overseas students, for example, will need to sit our entrance tests). All applicants will be asked to write a short personal statement as part of their application, and interview with our Sixth Form leadership team.
