d'Overbroeck's Celebrate Outstanding GCSE Results - a Testament to Exceptional Teaching and Supportive Community - Students Celebrate GCSE Results

Students at d’Overbroeck’s Oxford, part of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools, are celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results. This year’s outcomes reflect both the hard work of students and the outstanding support of their teachers.

Headline results include:

  • 30% of all grades are either Grade 8 or 9
  • 50 % of all grades at grade 7 to 9
  • Almost 25% of students achieved at least 5 GCSE at grade 8 and 9

Among this year’s exceptional individual achievements is Alice Taylor, (pictured) who attained six 9 grades, two 8 grades and one 6 grade.

Pictured here with Nick Haines, Head of d’Overbroeck’s Senior School. Alice, quotes. "Being at d’Overbroeck’s has given me the chance to reach my goals both inside and outside the classroom. What stood out most was how the teachers were always more than willing to help and that reassurance really helped me get the results I wanted."

At the Senior School in North Oxford, students, parents and staff came together to celebrate the results.  Parents highlighted the difference the school’s close-knit, nurturing approach had made to their children’s learning and confidence.

One parent commented: “We’ve been so impressed by the small size of the school, the close-knit classes, and the excellent pastoral care. The teachers are incredibly responsive, and the standard of teaching is very high. Our son has been so happy at d’Overbroeck’s, and we saw a real improvement in his grades after moving from his previous school.”

Known locally for its supportive and informal environment, d’Overbroeck’s encourages students to be themselves and follow their passions. With no uniforms, teachers and students on first-name terms, and a culture of mutual respect, the school fosters creativity, individuality and confidence.

Nick Haines, Head of d’Overbroeck’s Senior School, said: “We are always proud to mark our students’ achievements, and our 2025 cohort of Year 11s have much to celebrate! With stand-out performances across the curriculum, from Languages and Humanities to Maths and Science, these results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of our students, supported by the guidance of their teachers. We look forward to seeing them thrive as they move into Sixth Form and beyond.”

Patrick Horne, Principal, added: “Our GCSE students have once again delivered results of the highest standard, coming so soon after the outstanding A Level success of last week. These achievements highlight how the individual support that is provided at d’Overbroeck’s makes such a difference for all students.  We could not be prouder of what they have accomplished.”
