Exceptional A-Level Results 2025: d’Overbroeck’s Students Shine in Top Grades and Prestigious University Offers

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding A-Level results of our Class of 2025, achievements that place d’Overbroeck’s among the top performing independent sixth forms in Oxford and across the UK.

This year’s results reflect the hard work, ambition, and dedication of our students, supported by our inspirational teaching staff and the encouragement of parents and families:

  • 59% of all grades at A–A*, achieved by 220 students across 40 different A-Level subjects.

  • 45% of students gained at least three A/A* grades.

  • Standout subject performances in Economics, History, Maths, and Psychology, each close to 70% A/A*.

Andrew Colclough, Head of Sixth Form, commented:

“We are enormously proud of the excellent results achieved by our students. These outcomes are a testament to the commitment and inspiration of both our students and our staff. We are delighted to be able to celebrate each individual’s success and the remarkable outcomes they have achieved.”

Patrick Horne, Principal, added:

“Our A-Level students have done incredibly well. Their determination, supported by the guidance of teachers and the encouragement of parents, has led to a superb set of results. We are thrilled that so many have secured places at prestigious universities and are confident they will go on to achieve further success in whatever they choose to do.”

Among this year’s exceptional individual achievements is Lewis McVean, who attained four A grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and French*. Pictured here with Shanti, our Head of Biology, Lewis will be taking up a place to study Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.

From Oxford to the world

Our students’ academic excellence has led to offers from some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including:
University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University College London (UCL), King’s College London, University of Bristol, Imperial College London, University of Bath, University of Warwick, University of Manchester, University of Edinburgh, London School of Economics (LSE), Durham University, and University of Exeter.

These results highlight what makes d’Overbroeck’s one of the most sought-after independent schools for A-Level study in Oxford: exceptional teaching, personalised support, and a vibrant, encouraging community where students are empowered to achieve their very best.
