Head of Chemistry
Dave went to the University of St Andrews to study Theoretical Physics and Maths and left with an MChem in Chemistry with Advanced Chemistry. He then moved to Cambridge to do a PhD in the Surface Science group – looking at the interactions between small gas molecules and metal surfaces – and also managed to spend a lot of time playing the French Horn, as well as hockey and rowing. He has taught Chemistry for ten years now and really enjoys the practical side of things – who doesn’t like to see something blow up?! He joins d’Overbroeck’s as Head of Chemistry and can’t wait to get to know everyone, and also start doing experiments in the new labs at 333 Banbury Road. Hopefully he’ll still have time to enjoy cycling and growing his own vegetables on his allotment.
