Ash studied Drama at UEA before later completing an MA in Popular Cinema in Oxford. After his studies, Ash worked as Technical Director at the Norwich Playhouse before taking up a role as Performing Arts Facilities Manager at St Helen & St Katharine, where he later worked in Digital Marketing. Ash also works as a Duty Manager at Oxford’s only independent cinema, the recently community-owned Ultimate Picture Palace, and is a freelance composer and producer. Teaching Media Studies brings together his love of television, film, and music, with his interest in politics and sociology. His current favourite quote is by Richard Osman; “Sociology and Media Studies were always derided as Mickey Mouse subjects, but now they’re the only subjects which really explain our world.”
