The fourth Annual National Psychology Competition hosted by Royal Holloway, University of London had a somewhat different format to previous years; as opposed to a day out at their sunny campus and an opportunity for teams to discuss their work with judges in person the event took place entirely online. Two teams from d'Overbroeck's submitted entries in order to answer the question 'How can psychology be used to explain current events?'. A team comprising Andreea Enache, Alexia Van Hecke and Polina Altchouler considered the psychological reasons for the sharing of Fake News, whilst another team comprising Alina Andrä, Annie Park, Chloe Sham and Sally Sae-Hoei considered psychological explanations of National Identity Crises.
Both teams have worked hard over the last few months to produce a three minute video, an A1 poster and an audio file explaining their arguments, all with the added challenge of being dispersed around the world! I am incredibly proud of the excellent work they have produced together and the incredible organisation and teamwork they've displayed, and am pleased to announce that out of 22 teams who entered d'Overbroeck's were awarded fourth and sixth place overall.
As part of its
sixth form course offering, d'Overbroeck's runs an
A-Level Psychology programme.
