⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Last Friday marked the final night of Romeo and Juliet performances! Our students have been simply brilliant, and all audience feedback has praised the incredible acting skills of our young performers. For our principal actors, remembering lengthy passages of the script true to the original was surely no easy feat, and we were also impressed with the bravery of some of our youngest students in Year 7 who got involved in supporting roles. All involved were phenomenal, not forgetting the students who worked behind the scenes. It's five stars from us all at d'Overbroeck's; we are so proud of this tour de force from the Drama department and our talented students. Student Max, who was in the show, said,
“Being part of the production has been an amazing experience. The successful performances and wonderful audience response have brought so much joy to the entire cast and crew. Being a part of such an incredible rendition of Romeo and Juliet has been the experience of a lifetime.”
Here is a lovely review of the show from a parent and audience member:
"Just a very quick email to say how brilliant I thought last night’s performance was! Wow! No wonder d’Overbroeck’s has been deemed the best sixth form school around. I came along with Maddie and some friends. The cast really were sensational and a credit to you and your colleagues at d’Overbroeck’s. I was so impressed, loved the fact that it was such a modern take on Romeo and Juliet. I can’t think of any other school that could’ve accomplished this. It really was outstanding. You could see everyone one of the actors genuinely enjoyed their role and character. I’ve no doubt we will see many of the cast on our screens in the near future. Bravo!"
