U12s Netball OLA 7-4 d’Overbroeck’s – Written by Jo Kalies
What a fantastic result for our year 7’s playing against Our Lady’s school.
Goals scored by Eliza Robinson (GA) and Ella Smith (GS) with Milly Hall (C) flying through the court setting up some great play.
Our captain Millie Petrovic (GD) stopped OLA from getting into their ‘D’ to score on numerous occasions.
All players worked hard. Well done to all.

U13 Tag rugby d’Overbroeck’s 2-2 Wychwood – Match report written by Agnes Yorke (Year 8 Captain)
d’Overbroeck’s first girls tag rugby match went great, with all girls playing with enthusiasm and energy.
With strong defence from Ciara, Olivia and Laura, Eliza gaining space and ground, and excellent passes from Katie and Milly, we left the game with a score of 2-2 against Wychwood.
Emily slipped past defenders to score the first try, which motivated the second point scored by Agnes.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, and are looking forward to all matches in the future.
Rugby Result d’Overbroeck’s U14 Rugby 51 : 7 St. Edwards U14 ‘D’ team
This rugby match was a new fixture on the calendar this year and one hopefully we can repeat across all years in the future.
On a very cold Thursday afternoon, the d’Overbroeck’s U14 rugby team played an extremely effective running game of rugby.
They passed the ball extremely well, and this, combined with powerful speedy running meant that they were very difficult for the opposition to tackle.
Our tackling and rucking have also improved which prevented the opponents from developing sustained pressure.
We scored many break-away tries, but it was a result of really good team play. Well done boys.
Thank you to St. Edward’s for hosting the rugby match and we hope this can be made a permanent fixture on the calendar in the future.
Scorers: Kit Beaufoy; James McCool 2; Fionn Leaney (& 3 conversions); Adam Ricketts; Giuliano Page 2; Simon Rollet de Fougerolles 2.
d’Overbroeck’s U13 Rugby v Kingham Hill School U13 ‘B’
A wonderful win for the U13 rugby team.
It was with some satisfaction to watch the U13 rugby team apply many of the skills and techniques they had practised over the past lessons in a match situation.
The boys ran powerfully, rucked with focus and tried to pass the ball at speed.
This, in-conjunction with an improved tackling display meant that they dominated the game and came away victorious. Well done to all the players.
Scorers: Scott Jones; Otis Koch-O’Rorke; Marcus Berridge; Kayden Sillah; Dominic Stanley; Ollie Brunstrom; Emerson Henry; Noah Loosemore; Tom Godwin.
New College 35-55 d’Overbroeck’s
On 4 December our year 8 Rugby team travelled to New College for our second meeting of the year.
The boys got off to a great start and were 0-15 up within the first 5 minutes.
Tries coming from Scott and Dom (2). However, New College showed resilience and fought back well managing to score four tries in succession to put the score at 20-15.
The boys had taken on board what they learnt in their PE lessons and were a lot more competitive this time around.
Some great tackling and rucking were evident. Scott, Dom and Otis each put another try on the score sheet for d’Overbroeck’s making it 20-30 at half time.
The second half started with New College scoring a couple of tries but d’Overbroeck’s remained confident and managed to score five consecutive tries thanks to Dom (2), Will, Scott and Ollie.
A much improved performance with every player playing a part, top effort boys.
Player of the match – This was a really strong display and a real team effort, but the stand out player was Dom Stanley. He contributed 25 points and was at the heart of everything d’Overbroeck’s did.
Try scorers in full Dom Stanley – 5 Scott Jones – 3 Ollie Brunstrom Will Turner Otis Koch-O’Rorke.
