The sun shone on a truly glorious day at the new venue for our annual Sports Day.
The Sir Roger Bannister Track proved to be a wonderful stage for the students to exhibit their sporting endeavours. The field events took place in the morning which saw all the students participating in 2 throws and 1 jump of their choice.
We witnessed a fantastic competition from students in all the year groups, and as a result of their hard work in lessons, we witnessed many of the school records broken. A list of the record breakers is attached to this issue of What’s On. The track events took place in the afternoon, and every student competed in two running events.
The competitive spirit was to the fore and the support from the stand enthusiastically vocal. It is wonderful to see all our students prepared to compete against each other at this historic sporting track, inspiration from past athletics accomplishments ensured that all races were keenly contested. Every competitor scored valuable points for their Houses.
Thank you to all parents who came and supported all our students, and to all the staff for helping run the events and ensuring the day went well. Finally, thank you to all the students whose competitive enthusiasm, yet friendly spirit, which is now synonymous with our Sports Day, ensured everyone had a wonderful time.
