Congratulations to Becky Mann who successfully completed the Virgin London Marathon on the 22nd of April!
Becky managed to overcome the challenging weather conditions, the warmest London Marathon ever on record. Becky achieved a very impressive time of 4 hours 52 minutes, a truly outstanding result given the conditions and the fact that this was her first marathon. Becky runs for Headington Roadrunners and was raising funds for the Samaritans. You can still make a donation at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/BeckyMann1
Meanwhile Graham Hope (Kidlington Running Club) and Rachel Bayley (Headington Roadrunners) competed in the Eton Dorney 10k on April 14th. The course was an almost perfectly flat route around the venue used for the Olympic rowing events at London 2012. Graham and Rachel both competed in the 10k event. Graham finished 3rd overall in a time of 36:38 while Rachel was the 7th female runner in a time of just over 49 minutes.
Congratulations to Becky, Graham and Rachel for their achievements!
They are an inspiration to us all!
