Monday 5 February found Sixth Form students on a Physics trip to the Old Road Campus Research Building, University of Oxford.
The day started with a very detailed talk on what cancer was and the difficulties researchers face in trying to cure it.
The afternoon was spent touring the labs and looking at the pieces of kit that are used to image and irradiate test cell samples with. This included the X-ray machine, cell samples and a linear accelerator.
All of these involved applied concepts they learnt in the A-level course.
