All students in our international section take part in sport twice a week. All sports are offered across the whole school, so this is an opportunity to mix with British students and make new friends. You will have coaching in a full range of team and individual sports. Here are just a few examples of the sports we offer:
- Rock Climbing
What our students say - Aleks
All students are able to take part in a busy programme of concerts and performances of all types, so you’ll be able to pursue your own musical interests and talents. We also encourage our students to take part in whole school events.
For example, each year there is a whole school Winter Concert, organised by our Music and Drama departments, which you can take part in. There is also a whole school drama production every year, alternating a play by Shakespeare with a musical production.
We also put on an International Arts Festival each year, too, where we have some delightful music performances from our students, on a wide variety of instruments, including traditional ones from other countries such as the Chinese zither (guzheng) and the Thai violin.
Individual tuition is available across a broad range of instruments, as well as singing, taught by our team of specialist teachers.
There are a number of ways students can take part in drama activities while they are at the school. Confident performers can audition for major school productions, such as Romeo and Juliet, The Wizard of Oz or Sweeney Todd. If you don’t feel brave enough to audition for a whole school production, you can take part in drama in the international section.
A highlight for us is our Christmas pantomime, which is entirely put together by students and staff. Some students are involved in performing as actors, singers, dancers or musicians, but everyone gets to take part in some way – making costumes, building sets and props, helping with make-up or backstage. We also put on short comedy sketches as part of our Arts Festival.
All students take part in a wide range of activities aimed at confidence building, self-expression and team-working. Most of these clubs are organised across the whole school, so there is plenty of opportunity for you to mix with British students and make friends. A few of these clubs are:
- Action for Green Issues
- Book Club
- Bridge Club
- Chess Club
- Cookery Club
- Dance Club
- Debating Society
- Discover Oxford
- Role Play Games
- Vocal Group
It’s a great chance to try out something new. You may love it and, if you don’t, try something else instead!
