Our Boarding Houses
All of our students at the International school can stay in one of our boarding houses. All the students in these boarding houses will be on one of our IGCSE programmes or study abroad programme.
We have three boarding houses for students at our International School in Oxford: Hayfield House, Nash House and St Philips. Each house is looked after by a Head of House and a teaching assistant so there is always a member of staff available to look after students and make sure their time is comfortable and enjoyable. Parents can always contact the Head of House if they wish to discuss their son or daughter’s welfare.
Each house has wi-fi, spacious rooms and communal space where students can relax. St Philip’s is divided with boys and girls rooms located separately on the site. From September 2019 Nash House will be a girls boarding house and Hayfield House will be a boys boarding house
Students eat lunch and dinner at the school. The food is prepared by Holroyd Howe, a professional catering company, providing a healthy nutritious range of foods with plenty of choice. After dinner students return to their boarding houses for a two hour study period.
All students are in their rooms by around 10.00pm.
In the evenings activities are available. At weekends, students will have the chance to go to cinema or theatre and there are often trips in the day with, for example, visits to the Harry Potter studios and UK towns and cities.
On a practical note, students’ rooms will be tided and cleaned on a regular basis with fresh linen every week. Students will also be registered with a local doctor and there is a school matron in case anyone feels unwell.
We very much look forward to you joining our boarding community. We will send you lots of information in advance about boarding and about your first few days at the school, and when you arrive, we will make sure you quickly feel at home at d’Overbroeck’s, in Oxford and the UK!
Please note that host family accommodation is also available on request.
