When you have taken your IGCSEs, you will be ready to enter a UK Sixth Form to study A levels or the IB. What’s more, you will have strong English language skills — not just in speaking, but in reading, writing and listening. You will also have experience of British culture. Schools like to take our students because they know that they are well prepared and able to be successful.

During the year you will have met many of our A level teachers and got to know the A level students so you will know us well and we will know you.

Many of our IGCSE students want to continue with us for A levels.  The Head of the International School and Registrar help with this process, arranging interviews and tests, as well as providing references and a track record of your attendance and academic progress.

Our students have the opportunity to attend an Open Day, and we arrange ‘taster’ lessons in subjects that interest you as well to help you with the process of deciding what subjects you want to take.

Acceptance onto the d’Overbroeck’s A level course depends on meeting these entrance requirements:

6 IGCSE passes, including English and Maths
At least a grade 6 in any subject you wish to take at A level (grade 7 or above for Mathematics)

However, if you want to study IB rather than A Level or you want to go to another top school in the UK we can help you to get in.  We have excellent contacts with other UK schools and will:

  • Arrange visits and interviews
  • Organise and invigilate tests on behalf of other schools
  • Provide reports and references
  • Prepare you for interviews
