- 67% grades at A* – B
- 85% grades at A* – C
We are delighted with the results of students at our International Section, all of whom are studying in a second language on a one year intensive course, a fact which makes their achievements all the more impressive. Mika Araki from Japan who joined d’Overbroeck’s with elementary level English has achieved 1 A*, 2 As and a B in her IGCSEs. Wendy Wang, Angela Zhao and Zoey Zheng from China bravely tackled French IGCSE from as total beginners and all gained passing grades with only two terms of tuition! With at least 7 IGCSE passes each, this is the kind of aspiration towards achieving a breadth of education we hope to see in all our students – whatever background.
- Just over one third of students achieved 8 or more A* – C grades.
- Julia Lourenco from Portugal achieved 6 A*s, 2 As and 1 B; Alice Jiang from China gained 5 A*s, 2 As and a B; Tony Hua achieved 5 A*s, 1 A, 1 B and 1 C and Timur Rustamov from Russia collected 3 A*s, 4 As, and 2 Bs. Finally Petro Kutkovski from Ukraine achieved 5 A*s, 2 Bs and 2 Cs.
- Tony Hua scored an astonishing 93% in the Further Pure Mathematics paper.
- All top five performers mentioned above are continuing on to study A levels at d’Overbroeck’s Sixth Form. Julia has a Music Award and is principal violin in the school orchestra. Alice Jiang also plays flute in school orchestra. Petro, Julia, Tony and Timur were all House Captains and Vice-House Captains who led their respective teams throughout the year, motivating them in all kinds of House Competitions, showing that it is possible to be an outstanding student and contribute to the vibrant life of the school community. They will all make excellent representatives as TIS alumni moving on to Sixth Form.
