We are delighted with the information released by the recent UK government schools’ performance data, which has placed d’Overbroeck’s as the highest performing school in Oxfordshire, in terms of progress. The scores are calculated by comparing the A level results of students at d’Overbroeck’s with the A level results of students in schools and colleges across England who started with similar results at GCSE level. We have demonstrated that we really do “add value” and are delighted that the academically rigorous yet distinctive education we provide, enables our students to thrive. They do achieve well above expectations and we know they feel valued as individuals in so doing.
It is a true reflection of the dedication and hard work of both the students themselves and our excellent teachers. I hear time and again from students that they enjoy learning at d’Overbroeck’s and relish the lessons and opportunities provided by our exceptional staff. Often statistics don’t really tell you the whole story but here I am very proud that we can celebrate being well above average in terms of expected progress. We have an extraordinary record of this and it is often why families choose us I think. We suit modern life and the pressures placed on students for outcomes whilst recognising their wellbeing is paramount.
We enjoy being a socially informal school, where the relationships between students and staff are the cornerstone of everything we do. It is best described as being equally purposeful and positive. Students are proud to be at d’Overbroeck’s and know they can achieve more than they might have thought possible. They grow in confidence, skills and knowledge and do so with enjoyment and laughter. This is a great achievement as it acknowledges the efforts of individuals and their unique efforts.
