One week into the summer term and already one concert down! On Monday our string players from across the school were invited to share their talents with us, and what talents they are!
We had classical violin fireworks, soulful romantic cello, and 70’s pop masterfully rearranged for voice, ukulele and electric guitar; we started by dancing a polonaise and finished ‘Walking on Sunshine’ (remember Catrina and the Waves?). The variety of instruments and wide range of musical styles spoke volumes about the ability d’Overbroeck’s has to nurture our students’ individuality, and the evening was as much a celebration of their personalities as of the music itself.
My thanks go to Lianne for her sensitive accompaniment, and to the performers for their uplifting playing.
What a delightful concert! Thank you!
