This week was EPQ presentation week at d'Overbroeck's Sixth Form, where students had the chance to present their research to peers and supervisors. Some of the vast range of topics included:
  • Should the knowledge of radiation sickness have influenced the decision to detonate the atomic bomb during WW2?
  • Diorama of Death: a digital 3D forensic crime scene model
  • Should women’s reproductive labour be up for sale? An investigation into moral and economic arguments of commercial surrogacy.
  • To what extent is the resource curse avoidable? A case study of Nigeria, Botswana and Norway.
  • What are the underlying mechanisms of phantom limb syndrome and pain?
  • An evaluation of graphene coating in bone implantation.
  • To what extent is the historicity of Homer’s Trojan War supported by written records and archaeological evidence?
  • Is cryptocurrency the money of the future?
  • A comparison of the environmental and social impacts of legal gold mining practices in Egypt and illegal gold mining practices in Peru.
