Christmas at d’Overbroeck’s

25th December 2017

Christmas time at d’Overbroeck’s is always a time of celebration but also a time of coming together to help those who need us the most.
Events have been carried out throughout the school to help charities chosen by our students.
We hope you enjoy our photos and videos, filled with Christmasy moments!

Teddy Bear Naming Competition

In December, a little teddy bear worked hard to raise funds for Sierra Leone Fundraising by holding a ‘guess the name of the bear competition’. Her original name was ‘Susan’ but no one came up with that, so the new name of ‘Treasure’ chosen by Kayden Sillah in Year 7 came out of the hat during our last assembly of term. Well done to Treasure for raising more than £50 for Sierra Leone and well done to Kayden for giving our furry friend a new home.

Sierra Leone Fundraising

Great thanks are in order for students, parents and staff for helping us surpass the initial target budget for the Marie Sesay Orphanage. We will continue helping this cause all throughout the academic year.

Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children

We had our annual Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children on 14 December 2017.
Many ingenious jumpers and happy moments, just in time for the holidays.

Enterprise Christmas Fair 2017

2017 marked the first year of our Enterprise Christmas Fair.
Year 10 students were involved in selling their wares to raise money for a charity of their choice.
There were lots of opportunities to buy last minute stocking fillers with students having made huge efforts to produce items such as handmade Christmas cards, fudge, gingerbread, decorations, bracelets and wrapping paper to name but a few as well as the opportunity to buy homemade toffee apples, hot chocolate, toasties and other delicious treats.
This was a hugely successful event thanks to the planning and hard work that went into it with many charities set to benefit.

Christmas Advent 2017

Many thanks to our wonderful Hannah Mungall for always getting us ready for Christmas.

Season’s Greetings from our International Section

Snowy d’Overbroeck’s

During our 10th Day of Advent, snow decided to help us with the decorations!

Season’s Greetings from d’Overbroeck’s!

‘Tis the season to wish one another joy and love and peace. These are our wishes for you.

Season’s Greetings!
