Course content

Every Summer Course consists of 18 hours of classroom teaching and projects, plus up to 8 hours of Study in Action Activities, plus two Study in Action days. There is also varied programme of activities and sport.

Weekly themes

Each week of the Summer Course is structured around a theme. These themes vary from week to week, but will always be interesting, exciting and related to the UK. Example themes include:

Discovering Design

Learn the language of the UK design industry: look at the work of designers in the worlds of fashion, buildings and products; visit the Design Museum ... And put what you've learnt into practice by designing your own fashion show.

Media Mania

Learn the language of the UK media: visit the BBC Oxford television studios or the offices of the Oxford Times newspaper, then put what you've learnt to use in writing your own TV script or newspaper.

Other themes

Other themes include Beyond the Brand (English in the context of business and marketing), Globally Green (global and environmental issues), Innovation and Change (science and technology), Music and the Performing Arts, Past and Present (history and literature) and Time Out (leisure and travel).
