Why d'Overbroeck's?

“I’ve always wanted to study here! It’s been the plan since I was young because my family have come here for generations, I must be about the 9th or 10th member!”

The Teaching

“I love the way the teachers are so enthusiastic about their subjects. Last year in Biology was amazing because we were taught so much - not just the facts, but how the topics affect and help our lives, why we need to know them, and how they relate to the world.”

The Students

“A d’Overbroeck’s student is a very individual character who is allowed to express themselves. A very happy person! There are no social groups so everyone is always included; they are all very accepting and they are all brilliant – I haven’t met anyone I don’t like, which is impressive!”

Sports and extra-curricular

“I started rowing, which was great fun and a good opportunity to meet lots of people. The coach is brilliant; he is very supportive. And the sixth form ball was excellent. I also took up dance, which was run by Rupa (a Sixth Form student) – she is an amazing dancer so she just set up her own Indian dancing group”.

Future Plans

“I want to become a doctor, fingers crossed! My dream is to go and work in Africa because this is the place where people really need the help as it has so few facilities and healthcare. I have always wanted to help and do something to make a difference, and I love working with people. At the moment I work with children with special needs – for example, I have worked with a lot of children suffering from blindness and Down’s Syndrome”
