How I set up my own dance club...by Rupa Chandarana

"When I first embarked on my two year sixth form journey the culture and general ethos of d'Overbroeck's was very different to my last school. Although my last school was coeducational like d'Overbroeck's, having an informal relationship with the teachers i.e. referring to them on a first name basis and having a lot of weekly tests at such an early stage was very new to me.

I was quite disappointed at first when I found there was no Indian dancing at d'Overbroeck's because this was a passion of mine but then the College let me set up my own club and I became the teacher! I work with other students and it is a great way to relax after studying. We have performed at the College Music concert this year. I also took part in debating and performed in the College musical "Little Shop of Horrors".

I chose to study Biology, Business Studies, Communication Studies and English Literature at AS level because I believe these will help me in the world of media. I want to become a journalist and this summer have had work experience working for The Oxford Times and Oxford Mail.

d'Overbroeck's has been a very positive and enriching experience for me."
