Guardianship

International students under the age of 16 are required to have a legal guardian in the UK. A guardian is someone that is legally responsible for the student's welfare during their time in the UK.

They must be:

  1. A legally responsible adult (25+)
  2. Resident in the UK
  3. Appointed by the child's parents.

In some instances, the student may have friends or family living in the UK who can take on this role. In other instances, students use a guardianship agency.

Please contact us for a list of guardian agencies whom we recommend and work with on a regular basis.
