Debating

Debating club is run on a weekly basis by two Upper Sixth students who have a passion for debating current affairs. The club leaders promote a different motion each week and students have a chance to put their opinions across before facing often intense rebuttals from the audience. For those who are keen to further their knowledge and experience of debating, competitions are also available. One of our English teachers, Ruth Robinson, is heavily involved in school debating competitions, and enters teams into events, such as the English Speaking Union Schools Mace and helps prepare our teams for the fierce competition.
