Family accomodation

Family accommodation is a flexible and versatile form of accommodation, enabling us to make individual arrangements according to your preferences and requests, offering a less institutionalised living environment than conventional boarding schools.

All rooms are single, fully furnished and equipped with everything you need to be able to live and work happily and comfortably. If you have a specific request, such as access to the Internet, a piano that you may use, or special dietary provision, then we'll do our best to accommodate it.

Family accommodation varies a lot in terms of location, number of students, size of family and other factors such as facilities. All families are located in north Oxford, most within walking distance or a few minutes on the bus. Most are on a half-board basis, so that breakfast and evening meals are provided. A few rooms are available on a self-catering basis, where you have your own kitchen, or share the family’s kitchen and these are available for students who are over 18 and mature enough to look after themselves. Some families can provide access to the internet, some have children and some have pets – you must tell us what you want.

Family accommodation offers the following benefits:

  1. All within a 1 mile radius of College, some as close as 5 minutes walk away
  2. Single rooms, each with single bed and desk area for studying
  3. Bedding changed once per week (in catered accommodation)
  4. Some rooms with ensuite bathroom
  5. Breakfast and evening meal provided (in catered accommodation)
  6. Some self-catering rooms, for the more mature student
  7. Some with Internet access

The families that receive our students have usually done so for a number of years. They are friendly, supportive and understanding without being intrusive. You will feel at home, but you will also have the flexibility and the degree of independence which, as a Sixth Former, you would expect.
