Scholarships

d'Overbroeck's offers various scholarships – from academic to environmental awareness awards. The box to the right lists the different awards available.

Who can apply?

Scholarships are awarded each year to students entering the Sixth Form. You are eligible to apply if you would like to join the Sixth Form for a full-time two-year course of study.

What is the Application Process?

Scholarships are awarded on the strenth of a written examination, audition and/or portfolio, as appropriate. You will also be interviewed, and we'll ask to see a personal statement, references from your current school, and any other relevant supporting materials.

How do I apply?

Our deadline for scholarship applications is 9 November 2009 (for students thinking of joining us in September 2010)

Does the College offer bursaries?

Yes, we do award bursaries – which, unlike scholarships, are means-related. To discuss bursaries, please contact the Principal, Sami Cohen.

Types of Scholarship

Academic Up to four each year for outstanding academic potential. Requires evidence of a high level of academic achievement to date.

Art For outstanding talent in the visual/fine arts, demonstrated by a portfolio of work.

Performing Arts For outstanding talent and enthusiasm for music, drama, or both. Requires study of at least one of the above subjects at A level, and commitment to play a very active role in College productions and other performing arts activities.

Science For outstanding ability in science. Requires study of at least two science subjects at A level (Chemistry, Physics, Biology).

Environmental Awareness For a student who will lead in raising awareness of environmental issues within the College. Requires evidence of environmental awareness.

The Julie Baily Scholarship Awarded to a student of outstanding academic ability wishing to move from the state sector into independent education. The value of the scholarship may amount to as much as 100% of tuition fees.
