Academic monitoring and feedback |
||
We are committed to monitoring the academic progress of students throughout their A level course and keeping both students and parents fully and honestly informed. We operate a system for monitoring the academic progress of students throughout their time with us. The central element of this system involves the submission by teachers of grade predictions twice a term. These will be included on every set of reports. We want students to have a clear idea of what is expected of them and how best they can realise their potential. We set clear individual targets for students and offer straightforward and supportive guidance on how these can be achieved. Every student is supervised by one of the Directors of Studies- a team of 15 or so senior staff who are fully involved in the academic and extra curricular life of the College. Each Director of Studies supervises a small number of students for whom they have pastoral as well as academic responsibility. Directors of Studies work very closely with their students. It is their responsibility to help students to develop effective study habits, to organise their time effectively and to balance the academic demands made by their different subjects. They are always there to offer help or advice and to supply a sense of perspective if academic or personal pressures build up. |
