The main aims of the course are to:
• Revise and strengthen the grammar points that are essential for success in the examination.
• Revise and introduce useful vocabulary and help students to acquire an efficient
learning technique.
• Improve students’ oral fluency.
• Give advice on exam technique within the context of exam paper practice.
• Give practice in all skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
The course will begin with a test to identify each student’s particular problems. After the initial assessment, each session will usually be divided into several sections to cover a variety of areas (grammar, exam practice, speaking, vocabulary, etc.). Progress in key areas such as grammar will be monitored throughout the week through quick tests. At the end of the course, students will take a mock exam to assess progress made and identify the areas on which they would be advised to concentrate for their future revision.
Please note that some parts of this course will be less relevant to students who are submitting written coursework.
