Psychology AS

This course will build on the material that you have already covered at school. Working as a small group we aim to:

• Consolidate existing knowledge.

• Fill in any gaps.

• Develop skills to cope with the demands of examinations.

Much of the work will focus on skills of question interpretation, the effective use of material to gain marks and the demands of writing answers within the specified time. To achieve this you will be expected to think about and attempt a wide variety of questions as well as thinking about material in a flexible manner. All of the work is structured by past questions so that there is a continuous emphasis on examination technique. During the course we will identify strengths and weaknesses in your work and aim to give you direction for subsequent work and revision.

The course will help you to:

• Consolidate knowledge of theories and research.

• Build a clear picture of a 'good answer'.

• Develop a more effective examination technique.

• Feel in control and confident about your work.
