The aims of our pastoral programme
- Help students develop self-esteem, confidence, independence and responsibility
- Promote an atmosphere of trust and openness, in which young people may explore their attitudes and feelings
- Develop students' self awareness
- Promote understanding, tolerance and respect for difference
- Encourage a healthy lifestyle by considering factors that promote good health in its widest sense
- Provide accurate information, on the basis of which students may make informed personal decisions
- Give students experience of decision making and equipping them with the ability to weigh up options and make choices rationally and effectively
- Educate students about the baseless nature of racism, sexism and other forms of prejudice
- Develop and practice listening skills
- Help students understand and manage a wider range of relationships, and to show respect for diversity and the differences between people
