Matt McNally

Matt is one of our Year 11 students. A keen scientist, he plans to study Engineering at university after taking A levels at the Sixth Form. In his spare time he plays drums in a band.

In the video below, you can listen to Matt talking about the small classes at Leckford Place, and how he thinks he's benefited from an environment in which it's always easy to speak to teachers – and not so easy to hide at the back of the classroom!

How would you describe Leckford Place?

Leckford Place is a small school – which means that class sizes are small, so you always get help and attention. The teachers are also very friendly and approachable, which helps create a supportive environment.

What's your favourite subject, and why?

I enjoy Physics as the lessons are fast-paced and we are always doing new and interesting things. Our teacher keeps the lessons disciplined but relatively free as well, so it's very enjoyable.

And what's been the highlight of your year so far?

In the summer I went on the school expedition to Zambia. This was a brilliant learning experience and also allowed me and a small group of friends to get to know members of the Sixth Form
