Why study ICT? ICT has become an indispensible part of daily life – it's hard to think of a job that doesn't involve it in one way or another. How many of you are regular users of Facebook or Twitter? How do we 'chat', these days? — In chatrooms and by email, more often than not. Changes in technology have allowed us to expect and achieve so much more – and this is exciting.

What's a typical ICT lesson like? In lessons we learn new skills and look around to see where and how we can use them. It's good to understand why the door opens for us when we approach the supermarket, yet won't open for a toddler – or how the performance of a Formula 1 car is enhanced using computers. ICT doesn't stay in the classroom; it's all around! That's the aim of a typical ICT lesson: not just to acquire new skills but to understand the influence that technology has on what and how we do something.

What makes for a great lesson? Being able to learn a new skill, apply it and be really proud of what you have produced.

What's the best thing about teaching at Leckford Place? Everyone cares about each other, staff and students alike.
