The Tutors |

The tutors on the courses are all highly experienced teachers as well as being professional Jazz musicians. They are: Martin Pickett Martin has taught on every Some of that Jazz! course since its inception in 1999. He has been a secondary head of music as well as having many years of experience as a peripatetic instrumental teacher. As a performing jazz pianist and composer, he has a CD released on the SLAM label and has performed widely, both locally and at festivals in London, Birmingham and Malta. For more information, see www.martinpickettjazz.co.uk Kevin Armstrong Kevin began playing and studying guitar in Hampshire at the age of eight. He developed a love of jazz while at university. He has worked as a teacher and professional guitarist since 1988, gaining an RSA Diploma in 1994. Kevin studied guitar method and theory with leading musicians Dave Cliff and John Parricelli in London. He is a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors. He co-leads the successful group, The Jazz Menagerie and is a member of European Jazz friends. Alison Bentley Alison studied jazz at the Guildhall School of Music. She has released two CDs on the SLAM label and has sung at national and international jazz festivals. She teaches jazz and singing in colleges and schools in Oxfordshire. |
