Learning centred on the individual
Hand in hand with a focus on happiness is a corresponding focus on the individual – on knowing each and every student personally; understanding their motivations and goals, and tailoring our approach to their talents.
Many schools say lay claim to such an approach. At Leckford Place, though, we think we are able to get to know each child to a degree that others struggle to match.

In part, this comes down to size – both that of the school itself (less than 200 students) and the classes in which we teach (no class is ever larger than 15 students; most are significantly smaller).
But it goes beyond just size. Our whole approach is to provide the environment and teaching that will best serve each individual student – rather than to focus on the structures, heirarchies and traditions that can make a school start to treat pupils like so many cogs in a machine.
... In other words, we are small enough, fresh enough, flexible enough to provide every student with work that will genuinely stretch and challenge.
