We offer one year GCSE programme for students aged 15-18 who wish to study English as well as other academic subjects (Maths, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Business Studies, Art, French, etc.). Our courses are suitable for students who wish to prepare for their A level studies in the UK or experience one or two terms of studies in Britain. Apart from academic engagement, our students take part in a wide range of sports, extra-curricular activities and trips. We aim to offer a curriculum which both places a strong emphasis on improvement in English language skills and more generally provides opportunities for personal development. At the d'Overbroeck's International Study Centre you can study the following courses: - One year GCSE programme starting in September (English plus other academic subjects finishing by achieving up to 9 GCSEs) - One term course starting in September (English plus other academic subjects) - Two term course starting in January (English plus other academic subjects) (We also offer Summer English courses in July and August.) We have a great deal of experience of working with international students who have an outstanding track record of success. Last year International Study Centre teachers helped our students to achieve 55% A* grades at GCSE ( twelve times more than the average scores of UK schools). 75% of our students' grades were A*- A. The top ten universities for our international students in 2008 were Edinburgh, Cambridge, Imperial College, York, Oxford, London School of Economics, SOAS, University College, Bristol and Bath.
