Accommodation

We firmly believe that it is very important for students to feel happy at school and in their work.

For this to happen, it is essential that they are happy in their home life as well.

Students on the OPAL course live with carefully selected local families, most of whom have been working with the school for many years.

These families are often professionals such as designers, doctors, lawyers or university lecturers, who are used to welcoming international students into their homes.

British students who attend d'Overbroeck's College also live with local families arranged by the Accomodation team at the College.

When a student applies for a place on the course, we always ask them what sort of family they want to live with so that we can place them in a home that is suited to their personal needs.

Living with a host family provides our students with a secure and welcoming home as well as giving them a fantastic introduction to UK family life.

All students will have an independent study-room with bed and storage space. Breakfast and evening meals are provided by the family. Meal times provide a perfect opportunity for students to listen to British people and practise their English.

The Accommodation team stay in close contact with all our host families, visiting them on a regular basis to ensure that standards of comfort are high.

Some of our students also live in one of our boarding houses '106' located just outside the centre of Oxford and just opposite our main Sixth Form building in a safe and convenient location from the ISC. International and UK students live alongside one another allowing them to mix together.
