Oxford is a mix of the old and the new, the classical and the cutting-edge. Oxford remains one of the best univerisites in the world, and the students get very involved in the life of the town. Almost every night each term there will be at least two or three concerts including organ recitals, rock bands, jazz and choir music, as well as lectures, plays and sports matches. Aside from the University, there are also lots of other interesting things going on in Oxford. The world famous BMW Mini is made here, and the city also has a professional football team. During the summer, international cricket teams often play in the University Parks which are just opposite the International Study Centre. Many people from Oxford also travel to London to watch the Oxford University team take part in the annual boat race against Cambridge University on the river Thames.
